I really like reading and doing the work for Philosophy, just not the part where I have to get up for the next 13 days at 7:15 for class. I miss staying up late and sleeping in. Here's looking forward to Caturday, when I get to sleep in.
Amazon mp3 is going to make me run out of money very quickly if they keep putting albums I want on sale for $1.99 - $2.99.
Yes, this is another blog about a band. Thanks for asking. :P I seem to run into good music in bursts; especially when I'm not trying to look for it. I got onto iTunes a few minutes ago, trying to debate whether or not I'm going to buy Danger Radio's album "Used and Abused". Before I found my way to their iTunes page, I stumbled across a singer/band named Kerli. The album cover struck my interest so I decided to check it out. I gave the second track on the album a listen and it didn't catch my interest. I don't give up on an album with only one track, however, and played a few more. The first track on the album titled, "Love Is Dead", sparked my curiousity and I continued listening. I have to say that this album has the potential to be something extraordinary. The singer gives off an Evanescence vibe, while the background melodies reflect this as well, but with a more pop style. I guess you could say it's a mix of Evanescence and Flyleaf? I don't have a music clip this time, but I'll direct you to the myspace page. http://www.myspace.com/kerlimusic - Check it out!!
If you're a fan of electronic, new wave, or dance music you'll really get into these guys. I'm very cautious about what kind of electronic music I listen to because most of it sounds the same and doesn't have much to contribute to the music scene. However, I decided to give these guys a listen and was impressed with what I heard. Not only do the beat have some form of originally, but the lyric quality is above average as well. Ultraviolet Sound has some catchy songs; one of them being my current favorite on the right.
Check these guys out!! I think they have the potential to be the next big thing in the electronic/dance scene.
P.S. If you like what you hear, you can download their album from their myspace page at

The two examples I listed, I feel, are both unique in their approaches and attempts at conveying a whimsical collide of melody. "Hotel" instantly reminds me of a Moulin Rouge cabaret number and I love it for doing so because Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite movies. "Pleading the Fifth" also strikes me as having a old time barber shop show tune influence, but it's done in a much more catchy way.
Although these clips are short and don't contribute much to the overall album as far as theme, the lyrics are brilliant. "Pleading the Fifth" talks about deception and cleverness, while "Hotel" draws the listener in with a much deeper melody and mystique.
Overall, both of these bands are great and I hope they might inspire you to listen to more of their works.
